Quality Device Development

Provide appropriate terminal equipment in accordance with minimum standards. For example, determine the minimum standards of the device such as storage capacity, battery stability, and so on the ability to run learning applications. In addition, perform maintenance by means of periodic maintenance using maintenance incentives. For example, the government offers money or subsidies for annual equipment maintenance services to students or parents.

Improving Internet Coverage in Rural and Remote Areas.

Establishment of investment in telecommunications infrastructure. The government must increase spending to build more telecommunications towers, fiber optic cables and broadband satellite networks to rural and remote areas. In the meantime, public-private partnership. The introduction accelerates the role of telecommunications companies to work with the government to optimize internet coverage. For example, in the form of subsidies or tax discounts for learning infrastructure in less commercial areas. But more important than that is the Internet Community. For example, Provision of free internet access points in remote areas, libraries and schools for use by graduates.

Intensive Training for Teachers, Students, and Parents.

Development of an eight-week training program for teachers to provide technology skills. Provide early education to students. Such as basic operational training by holding orientation sessions at schools to introduce students to the basic functions of digital devices. Also, support for parents. Hold technology introduction sessions such as suggesting workshops for parents to enable them to understand how to monitor children's device usage.

System Maintenance and Technical Support.

For the local maintenance center. Propose the establishment of a maintenance center. This can create a maintenance center in each district to ensure that device repairs can be done quickly. As for centralized technical support. Introducing a technical helpline. With this, we can provide a helpline that students, teachers, and parents can contact to get technical assistance.

Usage Monitoring and Control.

For monitoring software. A control application is used. Examples include installing apps such as having device usage time, blocking inappropriate websites, and reporting to teachers or parents. Next, for responsible use education. The aspect of digital awareness also needs to be emphasized by ensuring that students are matched with the etiquette of device use about copyrights used in the internet and social media and the consequences they cause.

Strengthening Management and Monitoring Policy Implementation.

Carry out periodic evaluation by checking the annual audit method. For example, conducting annual audits to audit basic effectiveness and improve weaknesses. In addition, study user feedback by collecting feedback data to improve policy implementation from students, teachers and parents. As for monitoring the implementation of the policy, monitor student performance by assessing the impact of device use on academic performance and student involvement in learning.

Digital inclusion or exposure refers to the ability of individuals or communities to access, understand, and practice digital technology in daily life. This concept encompasses the availability of digital devices, reliable internet connectivity, and the digital literacy skills needed to optimize the benefits of technology for individuals and communities. Therefore, it becomes the foundation for socioeconomic development, education, and innovation in this IR 4.0 era. Thus, the Malaysian government has implemented the Peranti Siswa program with the aim of bridging the digital divide among students at every level, from primary schools to higher education. Through the provision and exposure to devices for students, this program can support efforts to enhance digital inclusion in the country’s education system through direct access to technology. It directly optimizes online learning and research and expands access to a wider global audience.

In conclusion, the Peranti Siswa program has made a significant positive impact in bridging the digital divide and successfully strengthening and supporting the digitization of education today. To achieve optimal effectiveness, the strategies outlined must be taken seriously so that national education policies and systems align with current needs. Among the strategies and policies refined are setting clear goals and objectives, providing training and support to educators and students, ensuring sustainable financing, and so on. However, in designing effective strategies, various challenges cannot be avoided, such as the quality of devices, delays in the availability of digital infrastructure and devices, misuse of devices, and the like. Therefore, several solutions have also been considered to address future challenges. Among them are developing quality devices according to current specifications, improving internet connectivity in rural areas, strengthening the implementation of existing policies, and so on. With these measures, it not only ensures the success of this program but also guarantees significant digital education benefits for individuals and communities in the future.
