Jean-Martin One the oldest and most common diversity issues in the workplace is the "men vs. women" topic. Over the years, a new element in the disputes over equal pay and opportunity is the transgender employee. Some corporations have trouble dealing with the fact that a man in women's clothing or a woman in the stages of "becoming a man" may perform equally as well on the job done as those in traditional gender roles.

Being a big company doesn’t mean you’re excluded from needing diversity. Along with that stat, only 2% of Google’s tech staff is Hispanic, and only 17% are women. A: Your fact of how 70% of Google's global workforce is male does not surprise me as the majority of people in STEM fields are men. This fact does not upset me, but I can only hope that more women join STEM fields as it is inspiring since there are such stereotypes that women are not suitable for this field. I predict it will impact change in the workforce as women will be too intimated to join workforces such as Google where there are more men, and scared of facing prejudice due to their gender.

@Brianna - It's sad to hear that the only way women chances of being hired are increased through blind auditions. It shows that institutionalized discrimination still exists. I believe that hope is not lost because we are now living in a time where it is impossible to block the voices of million of women who are speaking out to this unequal treatment. - Alexandra Tshileo

@Thirpam- It surprises me that African Americans are less likely to get invited to job interviews because I always expect that when I go to interviews, managers will hire applicants based on their skills and experience and what a person is capable of and not judge by their appearance but, with what I found out it change my views. Excluding African Americans would impact change in the workforce because the opportunity of discovering different skills from other people can cause fewer discoveries and improvement.

@Lydia This study does not surprise me because women are capable of doing the work and having the requirements needed for certain jobs. Businesses just don't give them the opportunity to show what they're capable of. I believe this study might impact how interviews are done in the future because this way people will get hired based off what they can offer to a company/business rather than their gender.

Queen.- Ethnic diverse companies are 35% more likely to earn above average profits than non-ethnic companies. It does not surprise me .Because,i believe that diversity brings out different ideas and this can help a firm to gain more income. I can predict that this statistic will open the eyes of the non- ethnic diverse companies and make them also focus on employing people regardless of their ethnicity so as to also gain more profits.

@Charlotte - Teams where men and women are equal earn 41% more revenue. This statistic doesn't surprise me because, obviously, intelligence isn't determined by gender. It makes me happy because it is supporting that companies should be more diversified. This clearly shows that when men and women are employed based on their skills and knowledge rather than their gender, the results are better and the revenue is higher. This statistic is promoting gender-diversity.
