"A good apology is like an antibiotic; a bad apology is like rubbing salt in the wound."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Explanation: If you apologize halfheartedly the person you are apologizing will feel like you don't really care about what you've done and not accept it. If you apologize respectfully and accept what you have done then they will accept but might not apologize or be ready to for a couple of days.

"Proper apologies have three parts. 1. What I did was wrong, I feel badly that I hurt you, and How do I make this better."
___________________________________________________________
When you apologize to someone you should always accept what you have done, have empathy for the person, and to figure a way to fix the problem.

"What if I apologize and the other person does't apologize back. That is not something you can control so dont let it eat you up."
__________________________________________________________________
You can not control the way the other person will feel before and after you apologize. When you apologize you can either do it the wrong way or the right way. If they don't think your apology was heartfelt then they might not apologize back and move on but if your apology was heartfelt it may take a day or two for the person to get back to you

If you apologize and it isnt sincere and heartfelt then the person will think you dont really care about what you have done in the wrong. If you have a sincere apology then go for it and if they think it was sincere it might take a couple of days till they want to talk again so patience is key.
