I watched a YouTube video for the bridge as I forgot how to play it

task. recorded bound to the floor

approach. played the guitar parts then used loops for the drums

result. guitars were fine drums a little out of time sometimes could improve timing

i was a bit slow with the drums causing everyone to slow down but he held it through right to the end

2nd run of the song was better but still a bit too slow i need to work on keeping the speed constant and fast enough

leon tymek and ethan figured out how to split the guitar parts between them both

take me away by christina vidal was very good with yet again all the guitars being figured out and my drums being fine

i was a little too loud i was told but that is something i can easily fix

the rehearsal was good and we definitely improved

I used sounds such as a cello, soul organ, dark textures etc

this by using say the chemo when only the black hole is on screen it makes the watcher feel the black holes presence

need to add more sounds next Friday

sarah and mj had some lyrics they had made and ethan and hermione began writing some guitar parts for the song and i then put some drums to go with what they had made

we made a verse and a chorus which was pretty good

we will discuss what song we work on next week im pretty sure

it follows the plot of a office worker printing a black circle on white paper but he can put his arm through it and grab stuff

so he takes it and steals a snickers bar then breaks into his office bosses office and steals the money from the safe before crawling in the blackhole and getting trapped in the safe

when I saw the movie I wanted to make a sci fi type sound to go over it by also using some of the instruments as sound effects and some like the cello to be played when the blackhole comes on screen

I used thing such as the texture machine to give the effect of the office background in the movie

I used the organ also to reflect the blackhole when the man started getting more greedy to symbolise the power the blackhole was having over him

overall I enjoyed doing this project as it gave me freedom to create a nice experimental calm song over the movie it was infesting and different from what I usually do

i think my strongest was take me away during the song i hesitated on a fill causing me to mess it up but i recovered fine aint it fun was good but i struggled to keep time during the bridge but changing how i approached playing it helped me stay in time i also did not play it the same as the original as i could not play the chorus part on drums so i decided to just play a simple beat over it to make sure im keeping time in case i went out of time while playing it which ended up working out fine for our own song shitshow i did not have much time to make a drum beat i had a rough idea of how it should sound and went with that i feel if we had a bit more time we could have had it sounding a bit better as i did improvise a little after the first chorus

i feel i kept time really well during all of the songs and managed to play all of my parts really well considering im not danny carey on the drums i also think the fills i hit sounded good and i played at a reasonable loudness

i feel i could have added some more fills but i was to focused on keeping time to really put more in i did put a good amount of snare fills in tho so its not all bad and as said before shitshow could have had some more consistency with the parts i was doing

next time i would focus on trying to play the songs how they were but if they are too complicated for me id have to put my own spin on it id also try to add more fills and not just play the beat as fills can totally change a song for the better and add to the overall preformance

These songs fit well with our style of music and are not too hard for us to play

I decided to play this as it was simple and high energy which would get people moving

while I was learning the song was choosing between doing the lead or rhythm for the bridge and decided to do the lead as my grunge pedal was able to recreate the sound on the album pretty well so I went for that

during the performance I could have looked up at people a bit more but I was nervous so I didn't really do that

overall I thought the performance was very good and I enjoyed doing it and would do it again

we are getting good at valerie and i wanna be adored and will continue practicing them

we also had a look at take me out by franz ferdinand but it looks unlikey we play that song

the first chorus has all the vocals while later ones i removed certain ones to change it up slightly

i also added one more of these vocals right at the end of the song as i thought it sounded cool

i then compressed all of the guitar and vocal tracks until i thought they sounded good

overall i enjoyed the mixing task as it let me understand more about mixing that i didnt know before hand
