For me, overall it was good . Here’s a few-things ;

1. To share the material ahead ( not everything. Just for the upcoming session) . So the break-out sessions are more meaningful.

2. Also to diversify the groups and not split by age. It would be good to hear different perspectives.

3. Mini Pot luck for every session.☺️

4. To give an overview of the approach at the beginning and reiterate the direction. At times I was wondering where we were going with the topics but it all made sense at the end . The Kahoot sessions were great where all age groups got to participate

5. What I loved about it was the approach- it was very open and father and everyone else got to share their personal experiences, and it was candid.

Here are some of my feedback.

I think the RCIA can be more academic in nature? Sharing of materials for us to read up before each lecture will probably help us to prepare better? Other resources and where to find/get them.

In the earlier part of RCIA, I remembered asking Mike what apps i can check/download to learn more on Catholic prayers and the Sacraments.

More group discussions for clarifications if any on the topics taught.

Quizzes via Kahoot was good. And more videos 😃.

The Catholic Church is deep in traditions and in RCIA we are just touching the surface.

I guess my only feedback would be to maybe allocate more time for discussions and group activities so the session is more active. Usually the session is just listening to the lesson, which doesn't always give the chance to interact with others.

I truly appreciate the RCIA team! They come every night to accompany us in our journey and I’ve such great fondness for the parish now.

There were plenty of times with them sitting down next to me asking how my day was, even though theirs must’ve been equally hard if not harder and then just be there to listen, comforted me greatly. Thank you for that, everyone!

Fr. Damien's explanation of salvation history was great since he managed to explain difficult theology quite plainly

I enjoyed Fr. Joe’s sessions as he grounds knowledge by walking through with us his experiences

Yours & Michael's testimony was heartwarming and I really felt what you guys were going through

Dominic's explanation on Catholic teachings on Justice was one of my favourites! I could truly feel history coursing through the entirety of that session

The very timely weekly emails helped me a lot in catching up on the readings and for my own self-reflection. Thank you so much on that, too!

And here some things that could help improve the experience:

I urge for the inclusion of the breaking of the Word during RCIA. I’ve found deeper appreciation and insights of the Scripture with homilies that were well crafted as it is, then having the RCIA team over at OLPS walk that through with us, and by gently asking us how we could incorporate the lessons learned in our daily lives. RCIA sessions at OLPS centres around the theme of the readings & homily.

Better facilitation in breakout teams is greatly needed, and it’s important that inquirers have ample time to share. The goal of this, I’ve realised, is to make us ready for the sacrament of Reconciliation. It also prepares us to be better Christians in that we can practice doing Acts of Mercy; by comforting the afflicted & sorrowful.

Further, facilitators must be trained, at least, to allow discussions to flourish and not just to preach—and even more so for the participants (guilty as charged)! I’ve recently attended a session on facilitation at CDM by Jane Lau (who helped set up OFC), and found that tremendously helpful. The RCIA team might want to consider getting her to train future batch of volunteers.

RCIA at SJC was an enriching experience for me. The whole program was very well organised. The curriculum was smooth and well structured which made it easier to understand and follow along. I liked that the lessons not only touched on biblical theology but provided insight to what it means to live and grow as a Catholic. I also felt the time allocated for group sharing also facilitated good discussions and reflections. Overall the organising committee and volunteers did a great job in creating an environment that was conducive to learn more about the Catholic faith.

I love the book ‘Mass Communication’ given to me as a gift. It allows me to understand and appreciate the beauty of the Catholic Mass. I’m thankful to have that book. It provided more insights to complement the RCIA materials.

I’m also thankful for the facilitators as they have been very helpful in our journey. Other than this, I would find it more meaningful to better know other RCIA mates who we journey together with. We have been journeying together from the start of RCIA and got baptised together. I believe if we have more time to interact (or force interactions) between each other, it could potentially be easier for us continue on our journey in the church together even after RCIA. Perhaps prior to our baptism, the facilitator may explore the option to meet for a short mini session together after the mass (or during the liturgy of the Eucharist, since we can’t receive the Eucharist yet) to discuss/reflect/share on the mass readings of the day at the parlour/classroom.

Overall, the timing and duration of sessions are convenient for me. It was helpful in my journey to become a Catholic. Thank you!!!

The training materials provided by SJC's team is great! Though, as an IT Engineer, my honest opinion is that some slides, cannot have too many words that are illegible from the furthest seat. I can't think of any slides at this moment but there's some where it's not easy to read even on the big TV.

The Parlour may not accommodate larger group in the future but thank God the house is ready. With some audio improvements and seating optimisation, it really can run 50-large RCIA sessions. For accessibility convenient, do you think the gates facing the National Library can be unlocked for us? Perhaps, for Exit only, like those push button to release the gate from the inside?

The group chat and emails for communication is well balanced and not overwhelming till it is considered "spam". It informs everyone well. Keep it up.

I don't have any other thoughts for improvements for my RCIA journey with SJC. Only thanksgiving and gratefulness.

May God continue to fill our hearts with his peace and grant us everlasting life. Amen.
