In this generation, the use of technology have been widely used in varieties of activities we do everyday. From the TED talk entitled “Connected, but alone?” prepared by Sherry Turkle she tackled how our devices and online persona’s are redefining human connection and communication.

One of the instances, we always wanted to hangout with our friends yet whenever we gather every one is busy updating their social life in the different social media’s . It’s funny how we love to talk to someone via chat yet when we are with them we tend to use our phone more often than tell stories to each other. Some people even feel more connected when communicating through the various applications in their phones. Due to this, people loss the true essence of living in the reality and submerge theirselves into the virtual world. They forget to actually grasp the importance of living in the wilderness of life. They choose to hide behind a device rather than enjoying life itself. Moreover, since the evolution of technology is on a fast pace--it was foretold that one day we will be more dependent on the digital assistant in our smart phones rather to the people around us. It’s sad since it might be happening to a lot of people in the present.

For me, it is more important to savour time with our family and friends. We never know until when we could spend time with them. We’re reaching adulthood and not every single part of our life, we will be with them. There will be point in our life when we have to go in separate ways to actually grow and develop ourselves. Technologies might be helpful to us to connect with other people around the world yet we should not let it consume our time and ramify the affinity of a healthy relationship with our peers. Meeting with your family and friends to have a bonding once in a while is still the most intimate way to express your affection toward each other.
