1. Humans do many things that hurt our water supply. Viruses and bacteria come from sewage treatment plants. Oil and gas production have radioactive contaminants. Organic chemicals that come from petroleum production and also gas stations affect our water supply as well. We also litter. All this litter can go into our water supplies and contaminant it. We also hurt our water supply by taking it for granted and wasting it. They waste it by taking long showers, keeping the faucet on when brushing their teeth, and using too much water for plants and crops.

2. Although humans hurt our water supply in many ways, they are also adding to it. We use many techniques to filter dirtied water. Humans use a technique called desalination to filter ocean water and make it drinkable. They also filter river water and rain water. Humans also help by raising awareness. They do this by advertisements, commercials and making them aware of the future. They can also conserve water by taking shorter showers and turning off the faucet while brushing their teeth.
3. To make more use of the ocean water that we have, there is only one solution we know right now and that is desalination. However, there are a lot of cons to desalination. The intake pipes kills millions of plankton, fish, eggs, fish larvae, and other microbial organisms. Marine biologists are going against desalination because of this. Desalination also costs a lot of money. However, is getting water for humans more important or saving the marine ecosystem more important?

1. One of the biggest things we do to hurt our water supplies is littering. We as humans produce lots of waste, so it makes sense that we have a large variety of pollutants in our water supply, including: microbial, inorganic, pesticides, organic chemicals and radioactive chemicals. All of these pollutants come from human activity like agricultural, industrial, residential, oil mining, and more.

2. We as humans can make more efficient ways of filtering water using more modernized technology like desalination and filtering with ultraviolet light and reverse osmosis. Or we can save water by buying succulents instead of maintaining lawns. We could also make it difficult to get pools and start fining people if you go over a family water limit. There are boundless ends to the possible solutions for saving water.

Humans destroy or hurt our water supply by using extra water that is not necessary, use chemicals which end up in water, leave trash and other pollutants outside which wash away when it rains or by winds and not cleaning our storm drain water where pollution will end up in the ocean. We could replenish our water supply by conserving water when the extra water is not needed, filter dirty water and make laws and rewards when people use to much water and when they conserve water. Also because crops has the most used water, if farmers used recycled water for watering, water might not be used as much for agriculture.

Walking more. Also we can stop wasting water by taking shorter showers and water plants with less water. We can use water we don't use in the shower to water any plants.
3. Global warming is causing a shortage of water. Humans litter in the ocean too much. Most of the water in earth is salt water which makes it not drinkable. We can use desalination to take the salt out of the water. Flint, Michigan was having a hard time with their water supply in April of 2014. The situation was resolved, but it could very well happen again if we aren't careful with our water supply. But in that case it was their governor's fault because he wanted to save money instead of fixing the high levels of lead in the water. High levels of lead lead to learning problems.

They also hurt it by abusing the amount of water we have by watering to many plants, taking long showers and leaving running water on.

2.) Humans can stop this by using unnecessary everyday tools like straws, picking up their dogs waste, recycling, and overall using less water
