3. To make more use of the ocean water that we have, there is only one solution we know right now and that is desalination. However, there are a lot of cons to desalination. The intake pipes kills millions of plankton, fish, eggs, fish larvae, and other microbial organisms. Marine biologists are going against desalination because of this. 3. Global warming is causing a shortage of water. Humans litter in the ocean too much. Most of the water in earth is salt water which makes it not drinkable. We can use desalination to take the salt out of the water. Flint, Michigan was having a hard time with their water supply in April of 2014. The situation was resolved, but it could very well happen again if we aren't careful with our water supply. But in that case it was their governor's fault because he wanted to save money instead of fixing the high levels of lead in the water. High levels of lead lead to learning problems.
