Me and alyssa's first plan was to research ideas on Pinterest to brainstorm. We found a couple we liked, some we didn't like, and some we liked but wanted to change it up or take ideas from it. At first we were gonna do the gumball idea. I imagined that this way we could easily see how our project went according to the amount of gumballs taken out from each one. Since this was our first plan and a little unreasonable we had to come up with a Blan b project. We found this envelop project on pinterest and adjusted it to how we wanted it. The reason we decided against the gumballs was because we were not allowed to have candy/gum like that. So we are sticking with the envelops.

To start out the project, I have to create big letters/words saying "Take a chance, Pick 1 Card" on a word document. I picked a bold pink and purple to attract the viewers eye when they are walking by. I thought that it needed to stand out more to get their attention, so to solve this problem, I cut out aluminum dashes to put under the letters of the heading. This way the light from the ceiling with reflect off the aluminum and catch someones eye. This part took a long time because of all the cutting out, twisting my hands, and turning in different directions. To help keep my focus, I listened to music and it distracted me better. The hardest part was cutting out letters like e, a , o, d, p, etc., because they all have holes in the middle of their letter and it was tough to get exactly on the line when the scissor was so big.

To make the envelopes stand out more we wanted them all to have a cool design. A good resource in the room were the designed art paper in drawer 29 and 31. We used some designed multiple times because we knew we will go through them fast each week. Since we will have to update the wall each week, we are making loads of amounts of envelopes. We planned that a lot of students will participate in our project by taking a note from an envelope. If there is 1,000+ students in our school we have to make plenty of envelopes.

After making the envelopes for the little quotes to go inside (we made like 400 envelopes), we had to attach them to the wall with sticking tack. All the envelopes are in colorful designs, which expresses my personality and feelings. One thing that is unique is watching people pick a card according to the look and color of it. I would pick a more colorful or patterned design because that's what I'm interested in and attracted too.

I never noticed before how fast the cards would go, we put them up everyday because students take them all each day. We are constantly redoing the wall which is a good thing because it means its successful. A really nice detail is the metal slits below the letters to help make it stand out
