It began when Edward Dolan open it up for mining. This was a camp that contained houses and mining. It honors Edward Dolan because he created the Copper Falls mining and later a place where you can go hiking, and have/ register for camps at. This is a man made trail and cabins you can stay in, but all the trees and nature was there before hand. Copper Falls have about 9 trails and is very big. You can have animals but they are not allowed on all trials. they have gorgeous waterfalls and beautilu wildlife, along with great trails. Copper Falls is a landmark in Wisconsin. It represents how things can change from the old days, and how having fun doesn’t always need to cost a lot of money. At copper falls you can go snowshoeing and canoeing. These trails you can hike 1 mile, 1.5 mile, 2.5 miles, and so much more. They don’t really have any one who it is dedicated to but there were a lot of people that put effort into making this place a huge success and making it somewhere  for people to see pretty things, do fun stuff, and have a great time with their family and friends. Copper Falls is one of the places where you can really see the heart of Wisconsin. You can see things that weren't really man made and you can see the beauty and nature of Wisconsin.

In 1904 William F. and Anna M. donated 63 acres of land for Vilas Park, with the intention of no admission to be charged. In 1911, Henry Vilas Zoo opens, in 1913 the first bear exhibit was built. In 2003, the zoo opens its new $4.2 million Tropical Rainforest Aviary also in 2008 the year-round flamingo exhibit opens.

It’s 700 acres of land with parks, walking trails, an ice skating rink you can also go on horse carriage rides. It was the first landscaped public park in the US, inspired by landscapes in Paris and London. It was discussed for 3 years until in 1835 they decided to build it. It took  20,000 workers to finish it including Yankee engineers, Irish Laborers and Native born stonecutters. It opened in 1859 costing 8.9 million in all.

The first territorial capitol was built in 1836. The second territorial capitol was built in 1837. While the first State Capitol started construction in 1837 and finished construction in 1848. The second State Capitol started construction in 1859 and was finished in 1869 but they added to the capitol afterwards as well. In 1904 the second State Capitol was burned down. In 1909 the third State Capitol started construction and was finished in 1917. The current Wisconsin State Capitol is 284 feet tall which is 5 feet shorter than the U.S. Capital. The first territorial capital was in Belmont Wisconsin and not Madison Wisconsin, which it currently is in.

The camp was named after then Governor Alexander Randall, who later became Postmaster General of the United States.
It has been the home of Wisconsin Badgers football since 1895, the stadium was complete since 1917. The oldest and 5th largest stadium in the Big Ten Conference. Camp Randall is the 41st largest stadium in the world, with a seating capacity of 80,321.The Badgers played their first game at the new stadium on November 3, 1917 against Minnesota.
A song called “Jump Around” plays  between the third and fourth quarters. You must  be prepared for the best college stadium tradition in football. When this song is played, fans go crazy, the whole stadium shakes and all of the fans off coarse JUMP AROUND!

It is approximately 3359 acres large, and with a maximum depth of 74 feet. Monona has a large variety of fish, including Northern Pike, Walleye, Musky, Largemouth Bass, catfish, and many more, resulting in lots of people fishing there. The first americans to visit the area where James D. Doty Morgan L. Martin of Green Bay, and Lieut, and the first white settlers arrived in april 15, 1837. Lake monona takes drainage from the surrounding area, which is mostly runoff from yards and streets.

It is the only Great Lake that is located entirely in The United States. The other four are shared by the U.S. and Canada. There is about twelve million people that live along Lake Michigan shores mainly in Chicago and Milwaukee. Lake Michigan goes through Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. It is the second largest of The Great Lakes by volume. Lake Michigan is 58,000 in kilometers. Crawfish, freshwater sponges, salmon, trout, smallmouth bass, and sea lamprey, a metallic violet eel are all native to Lake Michigan.

In 1911, John Nolen proposed a plan for an arboretum. This idea was promoted in 1925 by Michael Olbrich and the Madison Parks Association. Olbrich convinced the UW board of Regents to aid in the land. Most of the land was purchased in 1932.  The UW Arboretum was designed to be ecologically safe and helpful. It is located along the campus and is home to 520 acres of trees, shrubs, and natural wildlife.

It is a 17 mile trail in Madison, Wisconsin and it connects to 3 other popular trails. Wisconsin is a very health conscious state and the trail is a great and scenic way to get exercise. On the trail you need a state trail pass to go on it. The path goes along Lake Monona, a popular lake in Wisconsin known for boating on it. It also goes through multiple nature reserves. The trail will take you past some of Wisconsin’s famous sites. When people are on the trail they like to stop for ice cream and food. You can even camp along the trail at Capital Springs state Recreational Area.

Named the "Field of Honor", this site is also the start of the four-mile Foundation Trail, a signed hiking and bike path that circles the eastern part of the community.
