Hysteria- Another critical theme in <em>The Crucible</em> is the role that hysteria can play in tearing apart a community.<br>3. Reputation- Reputation is tremendously important in theocratic Salem, where public and private moralities are one and the same.<br>-- <br>Symbols <br>1. The Doll-  symbol of voodoo and witchcraft.<br>2. The Forest Puritans believed that the forest was the devil's dominion.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Themes&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;1. individual vs society : society does not like Paris because he is self centered<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;2. good vs evil : they believe their is a group of women that have been involved in witchcraft.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;3. death : there is a handful of deaths in the play and they are said to be a result of witchcraft.&nbsp;<br><br>Symbols&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;1. fire : in christianity, God is often represented as a fire, but in this play the fire can be seen as the devil or their faith, that is believed to be evil.&nbsp;<br>     2 . drinking blood : in the church, we drink the blood of christ, but in the play they read chickens blood. </div>]]></description>
