This photo is the cover page for the NWAC's action plan. This photo is a significant representation of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women's crisis in Canada. The NWAC states that these four women are a symbol for the MMIWG cases. The red handprint is symbolic of all the voices that have been silenced. The women in the photo are all different ages to exemplify that this issue affects all generations. The number four is present in this art piece because it symbolizes four main paths; these four main women and four main animals are purposely put in the centre of this piece (Native Women's Association of Canada, 2021).

I wanted to share this artwork because it made me really think and analyze that MMIWG cases and their direct effect on families and communities. Furthermore, Indigenous communities and families felt the losses of these cases; I began to think about what loss means in the way of community and family, and how loss can directly affect them.

I linked the NWAC's action plan because there is a lot of important information within it. They target multiple issues and what needs to be done as well as the cost expected and what resources they need. The action plan is very insightful and targets a lot of different issues surrounding the treatment of Indigenous women, girls, and gender-diverse people (Native Women's Association of Canada, 2021).

The NWAC just recently launched their #Answerthecalls campaign a 16 days of activism to end the violence against Indigenous women, girls, and gender-diverse people. The program started on November 25th the 40th anniversary of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and ends December 10th International Human Rights Day (Native Women's Association of Canada, 2021). Over these 16 days, the NWAC states that they will "point to eight of the Calls for Justice that the federal government must quickly begin to implement" (Native Women's Association of Canada, 2021). This campaign will also help Canadians understand how they can be a part of the solution as individuals. This campaign is branched off of the 'Calls To Action' that was released by the NWAC last spring that highlights over 65 measurable actions the NWAC is taking on to answer the 'Calls For Justice' (Native Women's Association of Canada, 2021).

Safe Passage is a resource designed by the NWAC to provide insight into the violent crimes that were committed to Indigenous women, girls, and gender-diverse people within the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ crisis. Safe Passage contains a virtual mapping data base that give insight into the MMIWG crimes and shows individuals the scale of the crisis and the communities where the crimes were committed in. Safe Passage also contains many resources to help educate society and raise awareness to end this cycle of violence and loss (Native Women's Association of Canada, 2021).
