Reyna has a continuous want for her father to be proud of her and to love her. Although, for obvious reasons, much of this is rooted from his previous absence in her life. However, these feelings could have stemmed from the fact that her mother was negligent as well. Even though she wouldn't admit it because she didn't want to "betray," her mother, she was not present enough to give her the assurance that she was a caring mother. Therefore, without her father, Reyna may feel as though she will have no parent or parent figure to go.
