For the bible verse I really like Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."

I chose that quote because I think it really reflects the theme, although God may put us through chaos, he has plans for a better future and this is nothing but a lesson he is teaching us.

We should really try to find as many stories about the monsters that we can, not too scary, but rather very interesting.

Exactly what age ranges of young children? Could it be like 9 to 12? Since we are discussing a semi-difficult topic and it involves monsters

I think 9-12 is a good age group.

Also I definitely think the theme for this

chapter is giving order to chaos.

I have made a trailer for chapter 1. I used clips from various movies. I wanted to portray through the trailer the seriousness of the topic we are trying to talk about. I tried using clips that look like chaotic and various beasts talked about throughout the chapter. I also wanted to keep our audience in mind by using movies they may be familiar with, but twist them for our purpose.

For our activity we will have the kids draw their idea of what the chaos monsters look like to them. I have drawn a really rough sketch for an example.

I think this chapter provides a great opportunity to show how God has plans for everything to work out okay. How He's always watching over us and protecting us, the creators of chaos, even when we sin. This is a really big lesson kids need to learn.

Okay so we kind of gave giving order to chaos to the introduction. For a theme I think "God is in control" works well too. Especially if we're using Jeremiah 29:11 for our verse.

I think that it is a good idea to use stories and pictures that the kids can relate to, in order to get the points across.

A verse that I really like that could be used is

Proverbs 19:21

"Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand"
