- Starting final year so far has been a little stressful as we now have to start focussing on dissertations and may feel like we do not have as much information as we'd like on our major projects
- Quite difficult to find the motivation to complete work again after having so much time off but also good to have a routine again.
- I'm looking forward to doing modules I have chosen, but also worried about the work load for the project.
- Starting final year is a bit scary but I'm glad to be doing modules I am more interested in.

Task 2 Question 2: Psychologists have been working to identify the components of well-being. It is often broken down into • hedonic well-being: the extent to which you experience positive emotion and mood and absence of negative emotion and mood • eudaimonic well-being: the extent to which you feel you have automony, purpose and authenticity in your life as well as meaningful connections with others. • Both of these components include or have effects on affective (emotion), cognitive (thinking) and behavioural (what people do) dimensions.

- I have felt cheerful and in good spirits - hedonic, cognitive/ emotional
- I have felt calm and relaxed - hedonic, cognitive / emotional
- I have felt active and vigorous - hedonic, behavioural
- I woke up feeling fresh and rested -
- My daily life has been filled with things which interest me - eudemonic
- This measure misses diet and doesn't refer to support networks.

Question 1, task 1: Question 1. The World Health Organisation defines well-being as “positive mental health is a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.” • Do you think this definition captures well-being for students? What is contentious about it? What doesn’t fit with student life? What’s missing? How would you improve its applicability to students?

- parts of this definition capture well-being, in regards to the coping with stressors and working productively for student life, however i feel this to be quite limited as student life is not only the academic side of university and studying but also the social aspects.
- some of this definition is suitable. When it addresses abilities, this is questionable in relation to student life as at university a lot of students question their ability and whether they are good enough to be here.
- doesn't really capture the social side to university and life in general, especially important as loneliness is a big factor for wellbeing.

Q3 and Q4: Question 3. The NHS have been publishing the following steps to well-being for many years. • Connect with other people • Be physically active • Learn new skills • Give to others • Pay attention to the present moment In your opinion and experience, are these steps useful to protect or enhance student well-being? What do you think needs to be amended / added to these steps to make them acceptable and effective for student well-being (consider hedonic and eudiamonic components)? Question 4. What practical things will you be doing to look after your own well-being this year?

- I think these points are useful but I would also add on about having a good diet and routine.
- To look after my own well-being this year I will ensure I always have something to look forward to.
-I think spending some time outside should be added and allowing yourself some down time.
