My mothers family has completely different diseases than my fathers side. My mothers side shows evidence of Emphysema. My fathers side shows Hypertension. Neither side show evidence of cancer, stroke, heart attack, Osteoporosis or Diabetes. Even though strokes and heart attacks are not common in my family history, having Hypertension can put me at a greater risk for developing these diseases.
