Something I remember from the video is that it was very difficult using the elephants in the beginning. They were not properly trained and it was very difficult to maneuver with them. After days of training and many hardships, Hannibal was able to train them properly. They were able to cross the river and after 2 weeks, they were able to trek across the Alps. After Hannibal realized how effective they were, he took them into battle and fought with them. No one knew what war elephants were at the time, so everyone was thrown off-guard when Hannibal took them into battle.

The problem with using elephants were that they mostly used males, according to scientists, male elephants have a harsh breeding process where the elephant acts very hostile and dangerous. This killed many people. Elephants have bad vision too. When they can't see what is ahead of them they do not go. Hannibal took a great risk with this because he wanted to win battles using this technique but he also lost many soldiers. He mostly lost the people that control the elephant, these translators affect how the elephant reacts. When an elephant loses his translator it is sad, it is like a husband or wife. General Hannibal was a very smart man, when the elephants wouldn't go across water he tricked them by making a raft that looks like grass. These elephants brought great affects in battle but they also brought casualties that could be crucial. This was a great risk, that kinda paid off. In my opinion, I think this is a wonderful idea. Other places were not familiar with this strategy and don't know how to react against them. This idea was a risk but is also benefited general Hannibal. In the end they won the war and this tells us that the elephants helped General Hannibal.
