This helps them explore new feelings. Helps them develop socially by having fun outdoor play, that is mostly child led. They develop physically by walking around, jumping around, and educators may put out cognitive play like learning how to spell, learning shapes, learning colours for them to write or use different things like painting on rocks or the ground.

Robin

Walking, running, curiosity, cognitive, language developmental are ways to thrive outdoors. Children can always get curious outdoors from different vehicles such as heavy equipment as they are quite a few that are out when they’re outdoors as well. Outdoor play is just as important inside, it helps with their development of cognitive, learning to make new friends and helps them socially, physically, helps them be on the move and helps them to be more confident.

Hattie Aningaat

Running around on the land. They can enjoy those activity during spring, summer and fall.

Children thrive outdoors by learning sensory play(playing with sand, snow, mud). It fosters physical development (walking, running, climbing, which are all gross motor skills). It is crucial for child development because being outside can build their immune system, so they won’t easily get sick as they grow. It is also important they get time outdoors so they can learn to respect the world they live in. An example is last summer we went on a nature walk, putting packing tape as bracelets on the children’s wrist to add things onto the tape from the natural world. (Leaves, twigs, flower pedals).

-Lisa

Why it is important to go outside for children.

It is important because it will show children we can be outside doing things like, building an igloo or any shoveling when there’s snow on our deck. Playing outside can help their health, to make their lungs stronger. It is normal to want to go outside for children because it will burn their energy. It will help them build their walking ability stronger. It will show the children what animals we can see outside. What we can see outside like building or transpotration.

Holly
