Martin Luther King Jr. Born 15 January 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Most likely one of the most well known radical in history for his work with changing the United States forever with his fight towards black people having rights. Martin Luther King used a special way of protesting against the government by not doing anything violent what so ever, it is said that he got this style from Gandhi, another radical who didn't believe in violence. Martin Luther king was famous for his widely criticised "I have a dream" speech. In this he said "I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal." America as a country did not believe in this but Martin Luther King changed their perspective on their laws with his peaceful speeches and motivational speaker like speeches.

To What Extent Was Martin Luther King a True Radical

Martin Luther King has changed the view of the United States by fighting for what he believed in which was the equal rights of all humans but especially black people. This created a more open mind set for America instead of the closed off "white America" thought set they once had.
Martin Luther King changed the way that people thought protesting should be as he didn't fight back against the police as he was a "peace radical" not using the traditional violence to show power instead he used his faith and powerful voice and message to make a shift through America.
With changing the thoughts of how black people should be treated came people that disagreed with what Martin Luther King was saying which evidently led to his unfortunate assassination on the 4th of April 1968.
Martin Luther King risked his own life but also the life of many others who followed him into his protests because of the violence that the mainly white police showed at the time towards black people. Martin Luther King risked his life to do what he believed was right.
Martin Luther King worked to transform America to giving black people equal rights, he didn't try to take "control" of the situation as he let his speeches and protests do the talking for him instead of showing violence.

What I Personally Found Inspiring About Martin Luther King Jr.

Personally I found that the way in which Martin Luther King changed the rights of his fellow black people was outstanding. He didn't show an inch of violence showing that you do not need to intimidate to make a change in this world and I agree with that 100%. The way he handles situations changed the way I look at the world as I used to think that violence was the only way to make a real change in this world for example, World War 1 and World War 2 which greatly changed our world and was done so through the use of violence. But Martin Luther King didn't agree with this and he proved that you don't need violence to change something and this had rubbed off on me big time, I take great motivation and personal morals from Martin Luther King. He has really challenged my world view and how I look at each person not by the colour of their skin or their religion but purely for the person they are.

Contrast Between Martin Luther Kings World View to the World View of His Own Culture at the Time.

Martin Luther King's world view could have been said that it was created from his experiences of racism, or his religion. Martin Luther King was a religious man, christian to be more exact. He attended church every Sunday and was a firm believer of the bible which says that everyone should be treated equally and fairly. This however was not the mind set of the culture and people that he was surrounded with over his life. Martin Luther King's, everyone should be free world view clashed with the governments and most white peoples beliefs at the time. This led to his radical like actions which was done through the power of god as he said. Apparently he used to say that nothing could harm him as he had the protection of god on his side. I don't think that we could just look at Martin Luther King's actions as radical because of his religious beliefs as he truely believed that black people should be treated equally to white which comes from his experience as a black male in those times where racism was particularly high.

Martin Luther King was born on Tuesday, January 1929 into a family of four. His mother Alberta Williams King, father Reverend Martin Luther King Sr and two siblings, Christine and Alfred Daniel Williams King. Martin Luther King was born Christian and raised that way with his father being a reverend at their local church, this made Martin Luther King a firm believer in god and the bible. From the time that King was born he knew that black people and white people had different rights. When Martin Luther King turned five he attended Yonge Street Elementary School in Atlanta. Eventually he attended Atlanta University Laboratory School and also Booker T. Washington High School.
