TRAILER – HOW IS NATURE DOING? Introducing the State of Nature video series (subtitles in English)

MAPPA serves as a tool and support for teachers, trainers and supervisors. Here you will find more than 2,000 materials produced by over 300 different organizations. Commercial use of MAPPA and its content without permission is prohibited. Publishers are responsible for their own publications, and it is up to the user to assess the suitability of the material for their particular use.

MAPPA is also a showcase for organisations, networks, publishers of teaching materials, science communicators, educational institutions and companies.

By registering , you can bookmark your own favorite material, add your own content for sharing (open and free content can be added by you, commercial partnerships via the administrator), create themed backpacks, and plan multidisciplinary learning areas.

Aim (Why)

· to learn about biodiversity and nature conservation in an inspirational way

· to get to know different methods of nature conservation

· to discuss how to reconcile nature conservation with recreation

Content (What)

· an outdoor educational game for 5th-9 th grade students and adults

· creating miniature national parks with high diversity of species and habitats

· planning sustainable hiking facilities with a strong emphasis on biodiversity

Methods (How)

· gamification: doing assignments and getting rewards

· cooperation skills, teamwork

· creativity and imagination skills

We have published all the game material in swedish and finnish in pdf-format online (Metsähallitus Publications). An english translation of the task cards are attatched here.
