There are 10 Canadian states, called provinces. It also has 3 territories. Some of there provinces are: Quebec, Alberta, and Ontario. There territories are: Yukon, Nunavut, and Northwest Territories. The size of the provinces and territories make Canada the 2nd largest county in the area in the world. Province receives power directly from the Crown (British constitutional monarchy) and territories get there power from Canada's federal government. The province and territories government is unicameral . It means that only one group of people make decisions and laws for each province and territory instead of two groups. In some other provinces the law-making body is called the legislative assembly. There is a law making group called Houses of Assembly. Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador made that group. There is a leader to each of the Legislative Assembly. The leaders are called a premier.
