Hello Book Lovers!!!

I am currently reading a novel called Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. I chose this book because I had heard really good things about it. This is also the book my friends and I selected for our book club this month! It is a realistic fiction/mystery about an older woman who picks up a post-retirement job as an aquarium janitor. She befriends an Octopus named Marcellus who narrates the second portion of the book. So far, it is very interesting. The characters are enjoyable and I'm looking forward to reading more!

I am reading my best everything a book about romance, by Sarah Tomp. It is about a girl who falls in love with a boy and she thinks it is meant to be and that he is the one she is going to marry. So far I think it is interesting. I enjoyed the first few pages so far.

The book I am reading is a romance book called We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. The book is about a family called the Sinclairs that live on a private island during the summer. I chose this book because Ms. Miller recommended it to me. Based on what I read so far the book seems like it will have a lot of plot twists.

I am currently reading The Contender by Robert Lipsyte. It is a Nonfiction Sports book. So far, not much has happened. It takes place in Harlem New York in a black neighborhood on the east side in the 1960's. In the beginning of the book, the main character named Alfred is waiting on his front porch for his friend James. Alfred doesn't have parents, his mom died of a disease and his dad left him, so he lives with his aunt and her 3 daughters. Alfred expected James to pick him up, but he was puzzled by why James was late. He was worried that James got into trouble. That's as far as I've gotten. I chose this book because I love realistic sports books, and this one looked good initially so I picked it. I think it will be a good comeback story of a guy who's life has gotten off to a rough start, and he will turn it around by being some sort of boxing champion.

I am reading The DH by John Feinstein. This book is a sportsbook. Alex Myers is the main character who goes through many personal issues. His friend, Matt Gordon, was suspended for a year for steroid use. Matt is also Alex's rival on the field, and they also fight over Alex's girlfriend. I chose this book because it's about baseball, and I enjoy books about sports. So far, I think the book is pretty interesting.

I am currently reading Kill Switch by Chris lynch, it's a mystery novel about a kid named Daniel and how he's spending time with his grandfather before he has to go to college, I chose this book because the title looked interesting and I'm so far enjoying the book and wondering what's going to happen next.

I'm reading The Hive by Barry Lyga. It's a dystopian novel about a girl named Cassie McKinney who gets a Hive Mob descended onto her for making an edgy joke online. I chose this book because the concept sounded interesting, and I look forward to seeing how she'll resist the hivemind that the internet has become. I think it's pretty good so far and it's definitely hooked me in and making me want to read more.

The book I am reading is called The Maze Runner. It is a science fiction book. A kid named Thomas is trapped inside of a huge maze and doesn't know what's going on. He will see many different things throughout the maze that will change his life forever. Based on what I've read it seems very interesting to see what he will do.

I am reading a fiction/romance book called Never Ever Getting Back Together by Sophie Gonzales. So far the book talks about Maya's famous ex-boyfriend Jordy whom she hates since he cheated on her. His assistant called her and asked if she wanted to be on a reality show called "Second Chance Romance". All of the exes of Jordy are competing for his love again. Maya only wants to be on the show to expose Jordy to the public. A friend recommended it and sounded similar to a series that I love. I'm enjoying it so far and can't to see what tricks Maya has up her sleeve.

The book I'm currently reading is called The Business of College Sports. The genre of my book is Nonfiction Sportsbook. This book is about the life of college sports like about the athletes and how their lives are affected by being a college athlete. It talks about how college athletes learn to become respectful and how to develop as a humans and not just a player. I chose this book because the cover interested me and I like college sports. After reading the first 5 pages the book seems to be very interesting and I'm exited to reading.

The book i am reading is Scythe by Neal Schusterman. This book is a dystopian about a world where society has conquered hunger, disease, war, misery, and death. Now there are too many people living too long and the government has to end lives somehow, so they use Scythes. So far I think that it is a very interesting book that really pulls you in.

I am currently reading Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It is a science fiction and is about a girl who lives in a poor area of the world. She volunteers in place of her sister in a deadly worldwide game that is viewed all over the country. Based on what I've read so far it seems really interesting and I am exited to read the rest. I picked this book because I have heard good things about it from friends and family.

I'm reading the book 1984 which is a wholesome novel written by George Orwell about the good that the government can do with absolute control over its citizens. Its an extremely interesting read as it dwells into the life of Winston an ordinary citizen as he lives under the regime of INGSOC. I chose this book because of my friends recommendation, and so far it has been a great read.

The book that I am reading is Once, it is written by Marris Gleitzman and it is a historical fiction book. It is about a Jewish boy that escapes an orphanage to find his parents during the times of Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. He saves a girl from a burning building and makes a Nazi laugh, this book is the story of the little boy. The reason that I chose this book was because World War ll and the holocaust have been things that I have been interested in before and would like to see maybe what it would be like as a younger boy during the time of these tragedies. I think it will be the boy's perspective the whole time but he won't understand what is going on in the world because he has been in the orphanage so he doesn't know what is happening to his people and family, i think he will figure it out by the end.

This book is a mystery. I chose this book because I have read a book by Phillippe Diederich before and I enjoyed it. Also, I tend to like a lot of mystery type of books. I think it's based on a group of kids that are all Mexican, and they are trying to go on a mission to Diamond Park to get their dream car 59 Chevy Impala.

I am currently reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It is a historical fiction classic in American literature. Jay Gatsby is a well-respected, self-made man. The novel goes over how Gatsby wishes he could relive his connection with the girl of his dreams, Daisy. I chose to read this book as it is one of the best-written books cover to cover in American history and has won many awards. I am unsure what to think of the book yet as it starts off in a flashback type of writing style and goes over Mr. Gatsby's younger days.

The book I am reading is called Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, this is an Action book. From what I have read this is about a young boy who has gone through some rough things like divorced parents and is hung up thinking about it. He is flying a plane to take his mind away from real life. I chose this book because I've heard it's good and I have never read it. I'm guessing it's based on survival because it starts in a plane and it's called hatchet so I think the plane is going to crash and he's going to have to survive in the wild.

The book is about a girl named Ellery that has to move with her twin brother to a small town that not many people know about but there has been a murder there and her aunt went missing there. Ellery and her brother are gonna see what secrets everyone in the town is hiding. I choose this book because mystery books like this always keep me interested and make me want to keep reading. So far after the first few pages it seems pretty good, I am currently learning a lot about the characters backgrounds.

I am reading a book called The Anchor by Hester Churilla. This book is a fantasy graphic novel. I chose this book because I really like books about heaven and hell and because its a graphic novel. This book is about an immortal monk that guards the gates of Hell from unholy monsters. The Anchor was mysteriously tricked into centuries of slumber until he woke up and now has to fight all the monsters that were unleashed during his slumber. After the first 5 pages the book seemed boring because it was just talking about the guy, but then I started reading more and it started getting more interesting and got into more depth on how the monsters try to get past him and more in-depth about him.

I am Currently reading "After the Red Rain" by Barry Lyga. The plot includes a dystopian/science fiction outlook on earth of which follows the protagonist Deedra, she like many others live in these mega cities and finds a love interest named Rose, Shortly after this love interest suddenly has their parent killed, which is blamed on Rose. Deedra needs to uncover whats going on in the city. I chose to read this because of my fascination with dystopian worlds and rebel kind of book. The short part i've read so far has covered the beginnings of the main character, mainly the prologue, which includes very ominous character and world development.

I chose the book For What Its Worth, a historical fiction book, by Janet Tashjian. I choose this book because the cover caucht my eye on the shelf and the summery on the inside of the cover interested me. So far in the the first few pages of the book we have been introduced to the main character, Quinn. he tells us that he is a music fanatic and knows anytthing there is to know about music and its genres. We are then tintroduced to his sister who we learn he doesnt have the best relationship with. So far I think its a good book.

It is about a girl named Lily's older sister's struggle with mental health, how she handles her treatment, and how her family handles the situation too. I chose to read this book because I've heard good things about it! So far, it is very interesting! The prologue did a great job of setting up the story and pulling you in.

I am reading one of The New York Times Bestselling series in I survived Huricane Katrina, 2005. This book is historical fiction. With a realistic pov of a fake story. A young boys family tries to evacuate, before the hurricane hits their home in New Orleans. They end up having to struggle through it. I chose it to learn about history. I think it will be interesting and consist of many challenges.
