It almost depicts the idea that children are the future and must be protected at all costs. It also shows that these children are the ones that are innocent with the outside world having no empathy enough to make it better for them. I learned a lot from this not only in the topic I was studying but using the format and padlet as whole. I never used this digital canvas maker before and found it to be fun and easy. The journey of learning Arnold Genthes was interesting because i never heard of him before and also I found it interesting to why he took interest into Chinatown and the Chinese people. I then was reminded of the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 during the late Victorian period. It was terrible time for the Chinese people of america and a bad reflection of America society once again. Chinese people were targeted and the center of blame for everything during that time. The photos capture loneliness because that was the feeling the Chinese peole were feeling in a country were freedom and togetherness is advertised. The utopia the chinese peole thought america was proved to be wrong. Genthe I saw an interest in a world different from his he embraced what was shun - he saw a culture with beauty when nobody else saw it.  Not only did he convey rhetoric through visual means but through art. It may have not be as open as one woth words but genthe allow a inside a perspective - a window that words may be difficult to paint. Photography is an easy digestible method of consuming a message and has a stronger sense of reflecting emotion and ethos. Photography as a whole lends a unique way of exposure to the public who cannot see what lies shadows all the time. It may not been a  massive impact to expose  a culture and people shunned by Americans.
