Theories serve as the backbone of processes used to plan, implement, and<br>evaluate health promotion interventions. Not one theory works for every situation. Research and different angles help health educators determine the most ideal theory. Theories help create a framework, provides framework and provides insight into the best way to deliver an intervention. A couple examples of theories are theory of reason action, theory of planned behavior and social cognitive theory.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ethics are the moral standards you rely on when you make decisions. Ethical issues to consider in health education are consent, confidentiality and competence. In 1976, SOPHE formed the earliest code of ethics. Then for the following 10 years, professional organizations worked to develop a professional-wide code of ethics. Code of ethics was the 1st profession wide code approved in 1999. Provides a framework for health educators and all health professions.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Starting the Planning Process</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Planning a health promotion program is a multistep process. There are many different steps to starting the planning process. Step one is identifying appropriate background information. This includes the needs and wants of the priority population. Step two would be titling the rationale. Step three would be writing the content. This would include identifying a problem statement which a focus on the health problem. Step four would be listing the references used to create the rationale. Then after creating the rationale, a planning committee is put in charge of putting the plan in motion.</div>]]></description>
