The 15-Minute City concept is based on the idea that city dwellers should be able to meet the vast majority of their daily needs within a 15-minute radius, by walking and cycling, connecting to more remote areas, and traveling longer distances by other sustainable forms of transportation. The 15-Minute City mission is to facilitate the analysis, elaboration, testing, and testing of innovations for 15-minute cities in co-creative environments, recognizing different urban contexts, and focusing on transferability.

2️⃣They are protecting the seagrasses within the scope of "Project Posidonia". Thanks to the Sea Grasses Action Plan, it is aimed to expand the protected areas by taking seagrasses into account.They are raising awareness about seagrasses by giving conferences.

3️⃣They are planning to place more recycling-bins every corner of Bodrum.

The meeting started with a story that helped us reflect on the importance of natural resources, particularly water, a valuable resource for our daily lives and our ecosystem.

Afterwards, the assessors talked to us about some of the main environmental issues affecting our town. They emphasized the importance of protecting water resources, managing waste properly, and promoting sustainable practices to fight climate change. They explained how the local government is working to raise awareness among the population on these issues and implement effective solutions.

Another important topic was the problem of waste management in the countryside. The assessors shared with us how some people, unfortunately, continue to dump trash in the fields. In addition to regular waste, old appliances and furniture have been found, causing significant harm to the environment. They explained that this behavior negatively impacts the local wildlife and plant life, and the administration is working to raise awareness among the public while also improving waste collection and penalizing those who illegally dump garbage.

We also had the opportunity to ask questions and propose some ideas. In particular, we asked for more green spaces in our town where people could walk and relax, as well as the possibility of having a cycle path to facilitate sustainable transportation. Additionally, we requested the installation of bins for recycling in our school classrooms to raise awareness among students about waste management.

The assessors told us that we can submit a formal written request for these proposals and that they would be happy to evaluate and consider them if possible. They assured us that the local government is always open to listening to the needs of citizens and young people like us, and that every proposal can help improve the quality of life in our town.

The meeting was very interesting and gave us a greater awareness of the environmental challenges facing our town and our role in addressing them. We were impressed by the passion of the assessors and their willingness to answer our questions.

In conclusion, the meeting motivated us to do our part in protecting the environment, starting with small daily actions and raising awareness among the people around us. Moreover, we are happy to know that our ideas and requests can be considered to improve our community.

Guided by biologist Dr. Oana Ristea from ABA Buzău - Ialomița, the students from Buzău used the #AquaKit kit and evaluated the degree of water pollution from a chemical and biological point of view.

The students managed to identify some pollution-resistant specimens as well as some less resistant ones.

The #AquaKit project, launched this year in partnership with BCR, brings to the forefront the situation of surface water pollution in Romania, by involving middle school students.
