3 things ive learnt:
1. To pack and tidy up the equipments on the day it was being transferred rather than doing it years after that
2. Importance of tidying up those IT equipments so that it's easier to locate and find them
3. The different types of cable and that our school really has alot of cables which is still in good condition.

2 things i want to find out:
1. Sometimes the cable still looks good but i am not sure whether it is functioning well
2. Whether the equipments will be accounted for and will be tidy forever like how it looks like now

1 suggestion:
Maybe a ventilator as it's quite stuffy in the store room

3 things that I've learnt:
1) the importance of keeping stock of the items bought to prevent buying unnecessary things
2) importance of categorising the items accordingly so that it is easier to find in the future
3) some of the items are in good condition and can be used if it is categorised properly

2 things I want to find out:
1) whether are we keeping track of all the items bought
2) are we checking the items every 2 years, etc?

Suggestion:
1) to keep stock of the items bought each time and categories it rather than accumulate and tidy it in the end.
Can check the stocks at the end of each year.. And dispose the items that are spoilt/ not useful

3 things that I've learnt:
1) We have a collection of IT equipment that could be traced back to the last 10 years
2) We may not have the resources (time, manpower etc) to keep track of inventory effectively
3) The different types and series of ICT hardware

2 things I want to find out:
1) How to have an effective system to keep track of inventory
2) Should we also have an ICT Head (Admin) and ICT Head (Pedagogy) ? If yes, should the ICT members be spilt up as well to support the respective heads? Or should VP (Admin) spearhead the admin part? With MP4 already in the offing and our school lagged behind MP3, should ICT Dept spearhead learning with ICT and extra resource person brought in to help settle admin/technical issues.

3 things I have learnt
1) We have improved a lot in terms of technology hardware. Devices are becoming so fast and improved. The zip drive reminded me of this
2) Things can be done really fast if we find a need to do it fast
3) Don't hesitate, ust throw away the items (After checking the proper procedures of doing so)

2 things I want to learn:
1) How do other schools manage their logistical systems
2) Is there any better way to donate all these used items away ? instead of throwing them? Especially those old ones but can still be used? Recycle perhaps?

1 things I suggest
a) A bi-annual clean up of the IT Store room for condemnation of items so that we are always keeping the store room clean

3 things I have learnt
1) Spring cleaning the store room regularly.
2) Labelling the items with photos pasted on the boxes is a good way to put items in a correct position.
3) Not everyone knows where the store room is and it becomes an abandoned room for the rest of the teachers.

2 things I want to find out
1) How do we keep track of the items in the store room? Is any inventory list for us to refer?
2) How can we make sure that the items could be disposed? if yes, what is the SOP? Are we aware of it?

1) there is a need for all ICT members to be aware about what is in the ICT store
2) cables should always be tied up once not in use.
3) there should be a regular disposal/condemning of items.

1) how can we ensure that our ICT storeroom will not go back to the same state?
2)can we have a check list inside ICT storeroom?

1 suggrestion for IT store.
1) create a check list and labels and place in ICT store room, and perhaps quantity, so that in the event of any movements or missing items, it can be tranced.

Importance of constant physical maintenance of ICT equipment

• Importance of maintaining a stock inventory list and ensure it is easily accessible (hardcopy & softcopy)

• ICT committee members to be aware of such a room of resources

• Will the cleanliness and orderliness ICT Store be maintained

• Is disposal/condemnation done on a regular basis?

• Install a ventilation system (so that whoever is working there for a long period of time won’t perish)

3 Things I Have Learnt

There is a need to spring clean the store on a yearly basis so that things will not accumulate.
Regular spring cleaning will reduce wastage of money as we won't spend unnecessarily.
There needs to be a system to categorize items in order to stay organised.

How are we going to decide what items to keep or throw if we were to spring clean on a yearly basis?
