I really liked the part when Morris first discovered the magical library. I also enjoyed the part when he sees the lady in the sky being pulled by flying books. I did not like the part when Morris decided it was time for his story to end. People who love to read and like bit of sadness in the books the read, would really like this book. I would give this book a 4 out of 5 stars.

There are many rooms in the candy factory where different candy is made. The Tropical room is Logan’s favorite room, and is humid and filled with trees. Another important room in the factory is the Chocolate room, where they keep the secret ingredient. Also, Logan’s house is right above the factory, and it is friand Logan and his parents live there.

I think that the book The Candymaker’s was a great book. I really liked the part when they all worked together to make the candy harmonica. I also liked the part when they found out each other’s secrets and promised to not have any more. I thought it was cool that the author switched sides of the story with the different characters in the book. I did not like the part when Logan thought that were stealing the Secret ingredient, but the were just trying to save the factory in the end. People who love adventure, mystery, and a bit of suspense, would love this book. I give it a 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

There are many settings in the book The Unwanteds Island of Legends. The beginning setting is in damp jungle that was filled with mysterious creatures in Artimé. Aaron Stowe got lost in this jungle, trying to escape the mansion in Artimé. When he stepped into the jungle, it was a new scene. “ Jungle vines hung from the most monstrous trees he had ever seen” (McMann 3). After that, Aaron goes back to Quill, a dreary and boring place where creativity is forbidden. The next I setting is Artimé. The people from Artimé battle against Warbler because two Warblerans escaped from Warbler. Towards the middle, the setting is Pirate Island, where Alex and his friends save Sky’s mom and the sea creatures. The Island of Legends is where Alex and his friends meet some kind creatures near the end of the book. The last setting is at the bottom of a Waterfall pouring down the edge of the world. Alex and his friends fall down the waterfall, and the book is a cliffhanger. There are a lot of settings in this book.

This story starts off with the main action. Wyatt, the main character, falls of the boat. Then, we see a flash back to earlier in the day when the guide, Brody, is going over the rules. During these instructions, Wyatt and his brother are talking about how cool it would be if they did fall off. Wyatt’s brother Johnny whispers to him, “ Wouldn’t it be awesome to fall in?” ( Robie 2 ). Then, their dad tells them to pay attention and they listen to the rest of the talk. Then, they go white water rafting. During the trip, they save another raft, causing them to go into heavy rapids. Wyatt falls off, but remembers the safety instructions and is able to swim to the other boat.

I thought that this short story was good. It had some intense parts, which I liked. My favorite part of the story was when he thought, “ I have to get out of this myself...” ( Robie 2 ). Then, he used his strength to get back on the boat. I also like that there was a flashback. I would give this book a 3.5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this story for people who like intense parts of stories. It is also a pretty easy story, so it would be a good book if you needed something short.

These are the many settings of the first part of the book. The first setting in this part of the story is Trossingen, Baden-Württemberg Germany, in October of 1933. This is where a boy named Fredrich Schmidt lives. Towards the beginning of the story, he goes to work in a harmonica factory. He also spends much of his time at his house with his father and sometimes his sister. Their house is torn apart by the Nazis, and it is destroyed. They thought they were going to go to Switzerland, but they got interrupted. Fredrich’s father is arrested by the Nazis, he has to go to his uncles apartment. When Fredrich has to go somewhere else when his father is arrested, his dad says, “‘ In the meantime, please go to Uncle Gunter’s’” ( Ryan 151 ). At the very end of the part, he goes on a train, but gets stopped by the Nazis.

I really enjoyed the book Echo. It was suspenseful and exciting. Every story in this book was a cliffhanger. I liked how all of the stories tied in together at the very end. I liked the part in the first part of the book when Fredrich’s sister gave him money to get his father out of jail, even though she was on the same side as the Nazis. I also liked the part when Fredrich waves his hands and acts like a conductor. Strange music followed his motions. This was very abnormal and “Fredrich had never heard playing like this before” ( Ryan 70 ). I would rate this book a 4 out of 5. It was suspenseful and it made me want to keep reading.

There are numerous settings in this book. Most of the important events that happen in this book are at Greenglass House. In the beginning, Milo and his parents are relaxing at the ginormous Greenglass house that they call home on the first day of winter break. Soon after that, Milo and his parents had to travel outside in the snowy, cold night to welcome a guest into Greenglass House, that is also used as an inn. When they were outside, “ The snow fell, trying to blanket the ground and night with silence .......” ( Milford 13 ). Towards the middle of the book, Milo and Meddy go explore the chilly attic, loaded with miscellaneous items. They decided to call this room the Emporium. At the end of the book, all the guest had left on Christmas Eve. The Pines were alone, and the Greenglass House became a cozy, sweet smelling house, with the sound of Christmas carols playing.

Meddy is a very outgoing character. When they met, Meddy asked, “‘So you’re adopted, then’” ( Milford 39 )? Despite the question that could come off as rude, they became good friends I also like when Milo and Meddy go to the Emporium and find cool objects. I did not like the part when Meddy told Milo she was a ghost. People who like mystery and creativity will love this book. I would give this book a 4 and a 1/2 out of 5 stars. It was an intriguing book and I really enjoyed it.

He loved to solve mysteries with Meddy. After Marzana and the Waits left, Meddy pulled Milo aside. She said, “ I’m really sorry I lied to you about being a ghost.” Milo then looked down at his feet, rembering when Meddy had lied to him. “ I had to pretend I was a ghost for a disguise!” The truth is .....” Meddy went on. “I am a secret agent.” “ Wow, that felt good! “ she said, laughing. “ I am usually forbidden to say those words.” Milo had sarcastic look on face. “Sure, and I am the president of the United States!”exclaimed Milo, in disbelief. “It’s true”said Meddy. Then she pulled back her sleeve and showed Milo a black watch strapped on her left wrist. She scanned her thumb print and a picture of her came up. There were words next to the picture stating that she was a secret agent. “Wow,” Milo said, “That is awesome!” “I’m glad you like it,” she said. Then handed him a watch identical to hers. “I want you to join my team,” she said. ‘“You are amazing at solving mysteries. I’ve seen you!” “What team?” Milo questioned. “ I will explain later, but your parents already know that I am asking you.” “What?” Milo said. “Are they secret agents too?” “Yep.” Meddy said with a smile, that quickly faded. She put a hand over his mouth and told him to run.

Piper has lived there by herself ever since her dad died. The house is in the scrap towns. Another setting is the storm shelter. It is dark and musty, and Piper hates being having to stay in it. “ She’d never been able to stop the crawly feeling that came over her skin when she was in the shelter with the earth above her head” ( Johnson 21 ). I did not like the part when Piper’s hand got cut on a metal spike. “ She had grabbed one of the blades protruding from the train’s metal skin” ( Johnson 290 ). I would give this book a 4 out of 5 stars, because it was adventurous and creative. I love how it was set in a different world. This book was pretty good overall.
