He barely had any schooling, but once he became big in the railroad industry he made a name for himself. He had made him a true legacy that will never be forgotten. Even when Scott passed away, said to be because he was over worked and stress, his legacy still lived on through Andrew Carnegie. Carnegie was Scotts assistant for a long time. He helped Scott accomplish the transcontinental railroad. Scott died with an enemy by the name of Rockefeller, this became the man that Carnegie was determined to take down because of what he felt as though he did to his mentor. Scott was born on December 28,1823 in Fort Loudon, Pennsylvania. He was the seventh child born, but had four younger siblings. He was always always a working child. He had very little schooling, but had plenty of working hours. He made a name for himself in the railroad business through Pennsylvania railroads. Once he was promoted in the company, he took Andrew Carnegie under his wing after hiring him for a personal telegraph operator and later his assistant. Later in his life Scott became the president of the company, and also the owner. He created the transcontinental railroad from Texas to California. On May 21,1881 Thomas Scott passed away. I would compare him to this company because they are super arch rivals with Apple. They also are very close to going out of business, while apple is on the top of their game. In this comparison Apple would be Vanderbilt, and Samsung would be Scott. I also would say that they are good equals because the Note 7 is practiclly dying blowing up in Samsung's face, just like the railroad business did in Scotts. This was because all of his railways were being put out of business. The result of this railways being shut down because of no supply was he had to fire and layoff his workers. The movie illustrates the riots and how he says he worked do hard he died, and that he set out to have the transcontinental railroad. What it doesn't show is that he did not start his own business, but took over another mans company because he died.
