  • Im not sure if it really benefitted them but I think it left them with a lot of good memories. We made them some simple games to play with, and had a lot of fun with them. I think these could go a long way and they could learn and also play these games in their own time.

  • It developed me to not stop being creativity and that our ideas can bring a lot of good to people. It also helped me to build up my community and I get to bond with my community and learn more about it.

  • It developed me a stronger belonging to my school’s GB, community and nation. I really empathise with them a lot throughout.

This experience has helped us to develop to be a resilient innovator and a community builder because we needed to be patient with them and had to find ways to interact with them properly. One of the GREAT values have displayed is Empathy, as we had tried our best to understand and help them. We have also demonstrated Adaptability when things did not go our way and we adapted accordingly.

    This developed us to become resilient innovators as although we encountered multiple set backs during the making and preparation of the games, the setting up as well, we were able to overcomes these challenges and come up with solutions of the spot as well if needed. For example, when the glue on our ducks for the fishing game melted, we occasionally glued the magnets back while letting the glue dry. This developed us to be community builders as we helped the trainees with ideas on what games could be done for their bazar experience and let them keep the games as well. Helping someone in need can help strengthen a build up a community.


    We were able to contribute and help out people in need, no matter how difficult or small the help given may seem, it could sometimes mean a lot to receiver or leave a big impact in the untrue. If everyone were to contribute like this and help one another out, there would be a strong community in school, the community and the nation, we all play an important role and belong here as well.


    We displayed the value of empathy. When we were planning the games, we thought about the disabilities the trainees may have and adjusted the games accordingly, this helped us make the game appropriate and safe for everyone to partake in. When we had the ball toss game, we noticed that it was difficult for certain trainees to hit down the bottles as they were too far away. We moved the tables closer, allowing them to be able to play as well. To add on, when the trainees were having their go at the games, we encouraged them and cheered them on even if they missed or lost.
