I have a step-mom, Lindsay, she is mean, yells, and is very hungover every morning. I was talking to my dad, and Lindsay about how I got nominated for homecoming. My dad congratulated me, but Lindsay had said "was it by grades?". She also insists that I have autism. I don't. She thinks I have autism because I had tip-toed to reach something, I screamed when she jump-scared me. I was 4. Her obsession with tequila is like barnacles stuck to a ship. She drinks it almost every night, and all she does in the morning is throw up & mope around. This results in us having to eat out almost every day for every meal.

How does this relate to the theme?

This relates to the theme because I say please, thank you, Yes ma'am, and no ma'am. Although I say these, she still is very rude to me. If she didn't drink so much, I would probably have a better relationship with her.

I have a dad, who favors my sister, Jessica, way too much. I had thrown a straw wrapper away, and missed. I stared at the wrapper for a few seconds before I picked it up. During those few seconds, my dad had yelled, YOU BETTER PICK THAT [bad word(ing)] TRASH UP, NOW. However when my sister left her school work ALL OVER the couch, my dad cleaned it up for her. She watched him clean it. When he was washing dishes, he put a dirty dish on the drying rack. I told him it was still dirty, and he was mad. He said, well you better [bad word(ing)] clean it. When he had broken a glass bowl, my sister had told him that he didn't clean up all of the glass. He said that he'll clean it up, and thanked my sister for telling him.

How does this relate to the theme?

This relates to the theme because it shows that when I make a small mistake, my dad goes almost ballistic. Although when my sister makes a small mistake, he treats her in a refined manor. I treat him with the same respect as my step-mom. He should treat me with the same respect back.

My third example is how narcissistic people treat service people. I was in a restaurant, and this woman had started complaining loudly about how the party of two got seated before her party of four. The waitress was trying to calm her down, but she kept demanding a table. The manager came out, and asked her to leave. Another time, my family was packing up to leave the beach. The cleaning lady had come early, and instead of my grandma asking her to leave, she cursed at her. She had made the cleaning lady cry.

How does this relate to the theme?

This relates to the theme because service people are doing your tasks for you. However, narcissists always treat them with disrespect. The service people treat others with respect, why can't other people respect them.
