For this theory it is imperative that the teacher act as a conductor for communication of content and idea sharing. Without the support of the teacher in the classroom, students would not be able to communicate in a way that is beneficial for the entire class. The teacher should not just sit back, but should engage the students to cover topics in this way. With their support this will allow for students that are Emergent Bilinguals to have a conversation flow smoothly and where they can ask each other for help when they don't know a word or sentence structure in the two languages that they are speaking.

In the world outside of the classroom the ability to use translanguaging is crucial to the transfer of ideas and content from one person to the next. It allows for people that share two languages or more to discuss different ideas and problem solve. This isn't possible in a classroom setting without the support from the teacher, if they believe that Emergent Bilinguals should only speak in one language or the other then the use of translanguging will die there. We can see translanguagings uses in all fields where language is present and the people involved share languages.
