INTERPRETATION: you can't have successful technology without the basis of humanities at the forefront of your brain. 

"The connection between humanism and technology will require people and institutions with a breadth of vision and commitment to interests that transcend their field. Before the space for collaboration can exist, both sides will have to take the most difficult leaps for highly educated people. Understand that they need the other, and admit their basic ignorance." My TAKE: each is an extension of the other. In order to improve and rise above, both must rely on the need of the other.
