In Japan the largest celebration is New years, many businesses close down for a few days and spend the time with their families. Yuki Matsur, a snow festival where people build statues out of snow. There are many more events that the Japanese celebrate, one thing they all have in common is that it bring communities together. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Japanese cooking often involves a lot of fish and seafood. The Japanese knife, also known as the Hocho, is used to cut fish or vegetables. The Manaita is a cutting board, made from cypress wood as it is a natural antibacterial material. Saibashi, these are chopsticks used during cooking, usually to whisk eggs.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Kuni’s Japanese restaurant was opened by Kunihiro Ichikawa, who came to Melbourne as a student in 1974.  It was one of the earliest Japanese restaurants in Australia.  Japanese food was first introduced to Australia in the mid 70’s, it then became mainstream in mid 80’s. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 2009 a survey was conducted by The Japanese Tourism Organisation. 72% of Australian visitors to Japan said the food was their main reason to travel to Japan. 51.6% said their favorite Japanese food was Sushi, followed by sashimi, ramen noodles, udon noodles, and tempura. These results show that majority of Australian tourists are travelling due to the increased interest in Japanese cuisine. Travelling across the world is a long way to go just for food, it must be good. </div>]]></description>
