(2013)<br><br></div><ul><li>This article, a response to Damien Riggs' article 'Heteronormativity in Online Information about Sex: A South Australian case study', focuses on the main issues that are pertinent to children's early education in the area of gender variance and sexual diversity.</li><li>The author highlights the following three areas as being beneficial to all students: the importance of gender and sexual diversity awareness amongst educators, parents and children; the value of developing children's sexual citizenship and ability to build respectful relationships early in their schooling; and the significance of collaboration between early childhood educators and families in relation to sex education.</li></ul>]]></description>

The language is suited to young people often in vulnerable states, providing support through easy-to-read messaging and access to information.</li><li>Minus 18 run regular events, publish regular articles, and regularly advocate for same-sex attracted and gender-diverse young people. Minus 18 also run workshops for young people and for those who work with young people on best practice for supporting same-sex attracted and gender-diverse young people.</li><li>Minus 18 is one of many non-profits that make up the HEY partners, receiving grants under the scheme. The HEY Project (Healthy Equal Youth Project) fund and promote local projects around Victoria improving the lives of LGBTI+ and young Victorians. &nbsp;</li><li>HEY project partners offer training and workshops for young people and those who work with young people, resources, legal advice and links to other mental health and support services for LGBTI+ young people and are often localised to geographic areas.</li></ul><div><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>
