Jefferson went against his own words by going against the Constitution. According to the video, Jefferson was a stickler to the Constitution, however, he didn't follow the constitution himself. Jefferson could be seen as a hypocrite since he didn't follow his own beliefs. He made everyone follow the constitution word for word but he does not abide by the Constitution when he purchases Louisiana.

Thomas Jefferson was wrong to purchase the Louisiana Territory. Before, when Alexander thought that expanding the land and government of this new nation was a good idea, Jefferson was completely against it. When he purchased this piece of land he went against his words and mentioned that the constitution implied that buying land was okay. By doing so, he was agreeing with what he disagreed to before.
