ARPANET, as it was known, was soon extended by technology like email. Email was developed in 1971 by Ray Tomlinson, and was so useful that by 1973 it made up three quarters of the traffic on the network. By this time, there were 40 individual networks connected to ARPANET. The first connection across the Atlantic Ocean also happened in 1973, when University College London was connected.

As the years go by, the internet has different kinds of sites you can look up. Kids and adults are interested in different things. For example You Tube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram are some of the new things the internet has created. Having internet is a help to communication and finding people.

One of the first things that was created was Google and ahoo. Since the internet was invented, many of new sites started coming. Myspace, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and even dating sites for people to meet and be able to communicate through these internet sites. Another thing that's been created is WI-FI. Its another way to have internet basically everywhere you go.
