Would the increase in pay require a change in the teacher/staff expectations? For instance, would staff he expected to stay later for school related events, meeting etc.

Answer: The number in hours we work would essentially stay the same. The increase in work week hours from 37.5 to 40 hrs a week would mean we are contractually obligated to work an extra 30 minutes a day. This does not mean we would be staying later for events and meetings.

How will this affect our work calendar?

Answer: Extending our work day gives us more room to "play around with" the calendar and the state mandated number of minutes.

A proposed increase in calendar days for non- teaching campus staff and non-campus staff professionals that work a year-round schedule would also include paid vacation days.

How does this relate to the proposed shorter breaks, etc?

Answer: It is my understanding that increasing the work hours would increase the flexibility of our minutes. The district is still working some kinks out of this challenge.

Will there be a cap to salaries?

Answer: I will ask to confirm, but this is what I have regarding salaries:

 "Over the past several years, we have been working toward “smoothing out” our teacher pay scale so that there are equal steps throughout the scale (i.e. $500 between each step). We have accomplished this for steps 1-22. We still have some adjustments to make this year with steps 23 and greater. For the upcoming school year, teachers on steps 1-22 will receive the same pay increase as the starting salary increase. If the starting salary increases $2,500 so will those on steps 1-22. Steps 23 - 25 will also receive a pay increase; however, the increase will vary depending on the adjustments needed to smooth the scale. Teachers on step 26 or greater will also receive the same pay increase as the starting salary increase (e.g. if starting pay increases by $2,500, those on steps 26 and greater will also receive $2,500). "
