The key reason that the spanish defeated the

Aztecs and Incas was because the Spanish had a

lot of armour. This is found on the

website called The Aztecs History. This means

that the Spanish could easily kill the Aztecs and

Incas without getting hurt. As we know that the Aztecs had armour made of cotton

and feathers, which did not protect them and made them die and at the end they lost.

This means that the numbers didn't mean anything anymore because one Spanish could

I think the main reason for the spanish defeating the Aztec and inca empire was the fact that they had much stronger and better quality weapons than both the Aztecs and incas. The Aztecs and incas had very basic weapons compared to the Spanish, the Aztecs used maquahuitl which was a rather large club with a covered in large wooden spikes which was used for close rage and only for that, it would have done well if the Spanish did not have armor the Aztecs would have been successful. But the Spanish had pikes which where long range spears meant for pushing people back, while they protected the cavalry and the people with swords and crossbows while they attacked. The key factor that led to the Aztec and Inca defeat was the diseases that the Spanish brought with them. They brought many diseases for example, small pox, measles, influenza and chicken pox. The small pox came from an African slave who had the disease, that had been brought to America with the Spanish. As the Aztecs and the Incas had not come across small pox before , they had no remedy and soon lost thousands of people because of it. Therefore the most important factor for the Aztec and Inca defeat was the diseases because they helped wipe out many of the people and made the job for the Spanish easier because there were less people to fight.

I belive that the most important factor that allowed the Spanish to win, is the armor. This is because many of the other people didn't have as good armor as the Spanish. The armor is a big thing to make them win, because they were in many wars meaning that you wouldn't want to get hurt. Also if you didn't have good armor, people would obviously die, and you wouldn't want to loose a lot of people. This is the reason I believe the Spanish won.

The most important reason for the fall of the Aztec empire was that they were in the middle of a civil war. The Spanish made allies which doubled there army meaning that the Spanish were able to defeat more Aztecs. The Spanish shocked them and as they were running the allies killed the ones that were left. This means that allies play a big part because they killed all the rest and knew the Aztec tactics

The Aztecs used clubs, maquahuitls and other similar weapons to fight the Spanish. These were no match for the Spanish's swords and lances. One heavily armoured footmen could kill dozens of natives with a sword. The lances took out great masses of people. Against these weapons, the Aztecs and Incas stood no chance with their close combat weapons. Therefore the weapons were the second most important factor for the Spanish success because they were more powerful and effective compared to the native weapons.

My second key point on why the Spanish conquered both the Incan and Aztec empire was because of disease. The Spanish had brought small poxs with them and the Astecs/Incas were not immune to them. All though, the Spanish weren't totally immune to small poxs but they had certain treatments which could cure some cases. "Quickly, smallpox spread among the population. The people had no resistance and no idea how to treat it. In many cases, everyone in a house died." This quotes shows that the Aztec and Incan Empire lost many of their people die to diesease.
