What is the motivation of your students to take the course? Motivation is essential to be able to learn a language, in this case English. For this, they must be interested in topics with which students are familiar in their daily lives and be able to develop the skills they need to perform in their daily lives and we must consider that there are types of motivation, one is to learn English for a specific purpose such as getting a good job, entering or graduating in school or to be able to travel abroad and the second is only because you enjoy learning or having fun What knowledge/skills might you expect students to have before the first class? It is difficult to know the knowledge and skills with the students in the first session so it is often very beneficial to assess the previous knowledge of each student. This helps us to better recognize what knowledge students bring to the course and to frame our teaching strategies around their needs.
