I loved using this as a formative assessment. It was great data I could use plus we as a class could easily see strengths and weaknesses and address misconceptions. I liked that students could vote with anonymity. I didn't like that students had to wait on each other to answer questions. It limited the amount of review we could accomplish and shortened their focus and engagement.

It is always great to have instant data to inform instruction. I think it is important to remember it limits responses to multiple choice types and should be used in combination with other types of formative assessments

My current HS students are VERY competitive. We use Quizizz often, and when I polled (on Edmodo) to see if they would prefer that we didn't show the leaderboard (after I had done it once in class), the overwhelming majority of them preferred the leaderboard. I do also assign the quizizz for HW, which changes the dynamic and helps my more introverted (and those will developing skills in an area) go at their own pace. Technology access is not an issue at my current school, but I think plickers would be quite helpful in a school where that is an issue.

I like Plickers, but I also have issues with it. I think it gives a quick formative assessment in the moment where another student can not "copy" off of a neighboring student. It allows a teachers to check for understanding in a fun and creative way. I love this resource for less technology schools. This builds in technology when students and staff feel as if they have so little. A combination of the two!
I have issues with the system that the management of the cards can become cumbersome. I have purchased the cards and also used the printed cards. Neither have been better than the other. I also have issues with larger rooms and scanning the cards and time. When your room becomes larger, it is more problematic to scan every card. I've had many times not everyone was scanned.

I can see both the benefits and downfalls of Plickers. I thin k it's great to have a no internet required resource. Many of our students are low socio-economic status so whti will stil allow them to participate. I think the QR code print outs would be easy to print and hand out. The cons of this plickers site is that it is not quite as exciting or enticing for kids since it's not on the interenet or on a specific devide. I think sometimes students are more engaged if on a device :-)
