It has affected our lives because most Americans express their thoughts without government interference. Peter John Zenger. The Independent newspaper accused the Cosby administration of tyranny and violation of the people’s rights. The Cosby administration took legal action against Peter because of libel. There was 2 grand jurys and neither issued an indictment for John Peter. The Cosby administration issued an information and took Peter to jail. Bail was set too high for Peter therefore, he had to sit in jail to wait for trial.
