         <description><![CDATA[<p>Solve the following word problem with your partner:</p><p><br/></p><p>Lena collected 42 leaves on a nature walk in the morning. In the afternoon, she collected 26 more leaves. Then, she gave 15 of her leaves to her friend to use in an art project. How many leaves does Lena have left?</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Hint:</strong> Use what you know about place value (tens and ones) to help you add and subtract. Try drawing a picture, using base-ten blocks, or writing number sentences to show your thinking.</p><p><br/></p><p>Expectations:</p><ol><li><p>Create a post that shows:</p><ul><li><p>Your solution to the problem</p></li><li><p>The strategy you used (like expanded addition/subtraction or place value strategies)</p></li><li><p>Create a visual that can explain your strategy.
