I feel like when it comes to non-white history, it's oftentimes brushed aside and treated as lesser, thus there's less accountability and awareness about how historical struggles impact present-day struggles and communities. Specifically focusing on the Asian American community and the detrimental effect that stereotyping has on the Asian-American population such as the dismal historical trauma and constant pressure. However, over the years, there have been more Asian American representation such as through music. 88-Rising is a music label that aims to bridge the gap between East and West. It is a platform primarily for Asian Americans and Asian artists who release music in the US.

Another angle is the somewhat recent news of several popular choreographers, a part of some of the biggest companies targeted towards teaching young dancers, who have been accused of sexual assault and grooming.
