I like the idea, and my personal preference is equity over equality, but I like the overall message that at the very least, you don't have to agree but you really should try to understand perspectives, values, behaviors and customs.

I also like the way he appeals to the universal desire to belong, regardless of what culture/ community you are trying to integrate into or get to know.
