Classroom Procedures, 2016-2017

Mr.Cabeza

Note from Mr.CabezaIn order to achieve an efficient and relaxed
classroom, we have established a few simple procedures. As a student, it is your responsibility to
learn and perform these procedures.
Following these procedures will provide a more organized and effective
learning experience. Most Common Procedures Entering
the ClassroomYou will enter the room quietly. As soon as you enter you will find the day’s activator
in the Dairy Agenda posting on board. Take
out your note book and do the activator.
Bags and
BackpacksAll book bags and backpacks are to be placed on the
floor or on the seat of an empty, nearby desk.
Please do not hold your book bag or backpack on your lap during class. Pencils
and a note bookAll math work must be performed in pencil. Please come to class with at least two
sharpened pencils and erasers. You need to have a note book only for Enrichment
math class, not any note book combined with any other subject. CalculatorsYou will need a scientific calculator. Try Walmart, CVS, Ocean State Job Lot,
Walgreen’s, etc., for inexpensive calculators (under $10). Sharpening
PencilsIf you must sharpen a pencil during class, please
do NOT do so during a teacher or student presentation! Throwing
Away TrashIf you have something to throw away, put it on the
corner of your desk and take it to the waste basket at an appropriate
time. Do NOT throw it. Please do NOT throw anything away during a
teacher or student presentation! Seeking
HelpIf you need help with class work, raise your
hand. Headings
on PapersEvery paper should be headed in the upper right
corner with your full name, date, , and class periods (1-2, 3-4, or 7-8), and
title of assignment if applicable. What to
Do If You Finish Classwork EarlyRaise your hand and let the teacher know that you
are finished. While waiting for further
instructions, work on incomplete assignments.
If you finish all incomplete work, read a book. Books are available in the classroom, or you
can bring your own. Bathroom
PassesIf you need to use the bathroom, raise your hand
and request a pass to the bathroom.
Please do NOT ask to use the bathroom during a teacher or student
presentation. Please be reasonable about
how frequently you need to use the bathroom during our class (up to five times
per quarter is reasonable). If you have a medical reason for needing to use the
bathroom during class on a daily basis, you will need to bring us a doctor’s
note.

Additional Procedures Arriving
LateWhen you enter the class late (with or without a
pass), please remember to sign in and write your name and your time of arrival on
the clipboard, and attach your pass to the clipboard. Go quietly to your seat. AbsencesYou can get the missing homework and other handouts
from the teacher. Tests and
QuizzesThe purpose of tests and quizzes is to assess how
well each student understands the material taught prior to the test or
quiz. Make-Up
TestsIf you are absent on a test day it is your
responsibility to arrange for a make-up test during the following two weeks. Procedures may be changed or added by Mr.Cabeza
