It was not until the 2018 that the Browns finally did something right. This era is known as On April 26, 2018 the Cleveland Browns drafted Baker Mayfield with the first pick of the draft. Baker became the starting QB in game 3 when then starter Tyrod Taylor suffered a concussion. Baker led the team to 7 wins and almost a playoff visit. Baker also broke the NFL record for most TD passes by a rookie. The record was held by Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson. Wilson and Manning were tied at 26 passes. Until Baker threw 27.
