We learned that Irland has really a remarkable and singular culture. Its traditions (like St Patrick's day), its sports (the gaelic football), and its folklore (the celtic/irish mythology) seem like very interesting subjects. We also learned a bit about the typical arts in Irland : we saw a couple of videos about Irish dancing wich comes along with the Irish traditional music. In the traditionnal Irish dance, you basically can't move your upper body, but only your legs. It can be a really fast dance, and it seems kind of exhausting.

Gaelic football, an Irish team sport, looks also really exhausting. It consists in passing the ball through the other's team goal. It combines carrying, bouncing, kicking and passing the ball.

Irish people speak english and irish gaelic. It's two very different languages, for exemple we say "please" in english but in irish gaelic it's "Le do Thoil". When irish people speak english, they have a strong accent so it's very difficult to understand them.

After some irish migrated and the gaelic was lost... In the nineteenth century, the gélic began fashionable a new times and many school of irish langage was created!! But everything who are fashionable are not long... and the gaelic was lost once again in 1960. Today, it is just on the panel and few people speak it.
