2. My parents do not want me to follow in their footsteps in terms of career. They want me to pursue my own career and future. I do not think that parents should put pressure on their children because they already have enough pressure from society to do well. I think that children should be what they want and not have their parents always telling them what to do. Children should try new careers and find what they like best because if you have a passion for something, it always makes it more enjoyable.
5. I admire people who are hard working and give a lot of effort because they can always be trusted to perform under any situation. I also admire people who have a positive attitude since they are never down and when they are positive, it influences their peers to be as well. Another thing that I admire are people with good focus and determination. They will always get the job done. I look up to people who are good at something, especially sports. It is amazing to watch them play and also motivates myself to work harder to be like them. I admire people who are brave and courageous because when you are a little scared to do something, they ensure you that everything will be ok and that you will do fine.

1. Dr. Wernher von Braun explains that “education is the only thing that can’t be taken away”. This is true and education is the most important thing that you can give someone. In his quote, he also mentions that education is more important that possessions and goods. Schooling and education is more important than anything else. You have to go to school and be educated before being able to have material possessions. When you pass, you are known for what you have done with your life, not what possessions you owned.

Freida Joy Riley hints that you have to have passion and a want to learn. If you have a book, you have to want to read it and learn. You need self motivation and determination to get something done. Additionally, you have to be brave and courageous to explore/learn something new. When someone influences you to do something, you want to do it for them, but you also have to want to do it for yourself.

Sonny has many different relationships with his own family. Sonny appreciates his mom because she encourages him, and declares,“To get out of here, you’ve got to show your dad you’re smarter than he thinks. I believe you can build a rocket. He doesn’t. I want you to show him I’m right and he’s wrong,”(Hickam 44). Sonny likes her since she wants him to have a future besides football. She inspires him to keep building rockets even when he blows up her rose garden fence. She wants him to build a successful rocket and go to college. On the other hand, Sonny thinks that his dad doesn’t like him. His dad, Homer Sr., cares a lot more about mining than his own son. Homer screams,“My dad’s the meanest man in this town!”(Hickam 97). Homer doesn’t like his own father because he doesn’t support him in his rocket building. Sonny also believes that his father likes his brother Jim, because of his football success.
