         <title>Binary Fission</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Binary fission is a type of asexual reproduction. This form of reproduction typically occurs in prokaryotes and some single-celled eukaryotes. Through this method, the parent cell divides into two daughter cells. To do this, the DNA must first be replicated; after the DNA is copied, the cell elongates. The DNA is then pulled toward either end of the cell where a new septum is formed and cytokinesis occurs. When septum is complete as a cell wall, the cells are split into two.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Fragmentation is another type of asexual reproduction. Here, the organism breaks down into several smaller fragments. Each fragment develops into an individual organism and is a clone of the original one. This means that they have the same DNA configuration. Plants, fungi, sea stars, and annelid worms all display fragmentation. The organism can develop specific organs or zones that they can easily "split off" the body in order to reproduce through fragmentation. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Budding is a strategy for asexual reproduction where a new organism is formed from a small part of the parent organism's body. In said small part of the body, a "bud" is formed. When it matures, the bud detaches from the parent organism, leaving a scar behind. The bud -- the new organism -- is a clone of the parent organism, as it is with every form of asexual reproduction. Corals, jellyfishes, sea anemones, hydra, and more reproduce in this manner.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Another form of asexual reproduction, parthenogenesis involves the creation of a female gamete without fertilization through the process of meiosis. The resulting egg might have a set of different chromosomes or it could have a set of paired chromosomes. The organisms that do parthenogenesis may be those incapable of sexual reproduction or they can be organisms that switch between sexual and asexual reproduction depending on the conditions surrounding them. The resulting births are called "virgin births." Organisms such as honey bees or rattlesnakes can reproduce through parthenogenesis.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Mitosis is a process of cell division in which a cell divides, creating two daughter cells that are genetically identical. Since through the different stages of mitosis, they get the same amount of chromosomes as they are distributed by the mother cell.&nbsp;<br><br>Mitosis has different stages which are: prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase and cytokenesis.&nbsp;<br><br>In the prophase the chromatin in condensing into chromosomes. In the metaphase the chromosomes align in the middle and the spindle fibers connect to the chromosomes. In the Anaphase the sister chromatids separate into individual chromosomes, separating to opposite sides of the cell. In Telophase the already separatas chromosomes Bond to form 2 nuclei and in cytokinesis the cell division ends, where there is a full division of the cell membrana and the cytoplasm.</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Meiosis is a process where a single cell divides twice to produce four identical daughter cells; however, these cells only contain half of the original amount of the genetic information.<br><br>Meiosis usually occurs in reproductive cells, unlike mitosis, and is completed in two stages, while mitosis only has one. <br><br>In meiosis, the interphase is spent with the cell preparing to divide. Then, in the prophase, the chromosomes are starting to condense. The prophase section for meiosis is longer than the one for mitosis. In the metaphase, the chromosomes line up in the equator of the cell. During the anaphase, the spindle fibers shorten and the paired chromosomes move towards opposite ends of the cell. In telophase, two daughter cells are formed and they split apart in cytokinesis. However, the big difference between mitosis and meiosis is that while mitosis results in just two daughter cells, meiosis results in four. That means that there are still more steps to meiosis. However, cytokinesis does not always occur after telophase for meiosis.<br><br>In prophase II, each daughter cell starts to condense. In metaphase II, the chromosomes line up in the equator of the cell. In anaphase II, the centrometers of each chromosome split. In telophase II, nuclei starts forming in the poles of the cells as the chromosomes begin condensing, resulting in the daughter cells splitting apart in cytokinesis II. Then, the process repeats.<br><br>While the "II" section in meiosis is similar to the first one, there is a key difference with mitosis, which is that the end product is four daughter cells with half as much genetic information as the original amount. Another key difference is that meiosis is, obviously, a longer process.</div>]]></description>
