         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>I Can Statement:</strong> I can briefly explain how tornadoes can affect a life.<br>Materials: <br>-Ipad<br>-2 empty liter bottles <br>-water<br>-thick tape<br>-food coloring<br><strong>Directions: </strong><br>(Read these directions fully, then turn on your Ipad and go to the link provided on the Wizard of Oz tornado scene. Watch it while creating and again after if need be.) <br>1. Fill one liter bottle 3/4 full. You may add food coloring if you'd like.<br>2. Now tape the other empty bottle to the full bottle so that the mouths of the two are connected. Wrap the tape around the place where the mouths are connected several times. Make sure the bottles are secure and no water will leak out. The bottles may need to be re-taped periodically.<br>3. Flip the bottles over so that the bottle with the water is at the top. As you flip it, move the bottles in a circular motion so that the water spins. The water will begin to funnel into the empty bottle on the bottom. If the tornado stops, move the bottles in a circle again.<br>4. If you couldn't watch the wizard of oz scene while creating this make sure to rewatch it. <br>5. The reaction between the baking soda and vinegar will cause the snow balls to fizz and bubble. <br>3. For a snow avalanche, pour vinegar into a tub, then drop a snowball in.<br>4.          <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>I Can Statement:</strong> I can find the difference between me and my partners scales and know how it was invented.<br><strong>Materials:</strong> <br>- soda bottle<br>- water<br>- wire<br>- paper<br>- table<br>- stick/ruler<br>- tape<br>- aluminum foil <br>- books<br>-pen <br>- calculator</div><div><strong>Directions:</strong>  </div><div>1. Fill a 2-liter soda bottle with water and use wire to suspend it about 1′ above the surface of a table, using a sturdy stick or ruler set across stacks of heavy books. (The bottle should hang freely between the books.)<br>2. Tape a sheet of paper with aluminum foil underneath it to the table, beneath the bottle.<br>3. Roll a felt-tip pen in a piece of paper, and tape it loosely enough for the pen to slide up and down.<br>4. Tape this roll to the side of the bottle so that the pen’s tip touches the paper.<br>5. Shake the table back and forth, gently at first and then a little harder. (Don’t move the table’s legs; shaking is enough.)<br>6. When you’re done, examine the paper. <br>7.
