-Achievement data path put aside
-Thinking about what we want to know about candidates at the end of their first year of teaching. Instead of thinking about trying to get info from a whole population, think about this as targeted sampling. May be able to produce a guidebook or handbook that gets us to information on this measure. May sample on bright spots and case studies. Focus group around student learning is established (i.e., focus group around student learning at 3rd grade level). Could be part of a faculty member's load or supervisor's load to follow up on data collection, there is a protocol for how to run the group, teachers bring the work samples. Could build off edTPA Task 3 - assessment task - use some of the same guided questions. Standard Reporting - 3-5 rubrics would be developed & focus group person reports on rubric on quality and level of learning that was reported in the meeting. Rubrics would need to be developed and standardized. Report on some measure or range of the data on these surveys. Handbook would lay out how to do this, thinking about how rubrics could be standardized.
